2012 NASF Industry Awards

Recognizing Volunteers and their Contributions

At SUR/FIN in Las Vegas, NASF continued a time honored tradition of presenting awards to acknowledge the leadership of our peers who have dedicated a great deal of their time (with little fanfare) to ensure a strong association and vibrant future. This event symbolizes what is good about our association and the many individuals who care deeply about our industry.

NASF recognized a number of well deserving individuals to receive the following awards:

The Presidential Award

The Presidential Award focuses on the extraordinary service put forth by an NASF member who is actively participating on the national level.

2012 Recipient: David Marsh, Marsh Plating

The August P. Munning Award

The August P. Munning Award is given to a supplier member, who, in the opinion of his or her peers, has significantly contributed to the future well being of the Association and who exemplifies the traits of August P. Munning— his great interest, hard work, dedication, and selfless devotion to the metal finishing industry.

2012 Recipient: Bernie Haviland, Haviland

The Taormina Award

The Taormina Award, one of NASF’s most prestigious awards, is given to an individual who has performed outstanding service to the finishing industry. The award winners over the years have been among the most dedicated individuals to improving our industry.

The Scientific Achievement Award

The Scientific Achievement Award recognizes a person, who has contributed to the advancement of the theory and practice of electroplating, metal finishing and the allied arts, has raised the quality of processes and products, has enhanced the dignity and status of the profession or has been involved in a combination of these. The first recipient of this award was Dr. William Blum Sr., who was instrumental in the establishment of fundamental research in the Society.
